Safely presses the damper pulley (harmonic balancer) off of the crank shaft. Remove the bolt, lock washer, and flat washer. Position the tool in the slots on the damper assembly and tighten the jack screw to remove the assembly.
Ive never removed a harmonic balancer before, so watched a number of U tube videos with a variety of gear pullers. There were no bolt holes on the front of my pulley to fasten a conventional puller. When I ordered the new crank seal, this tool is also shown, as a way to get the balancer/pulley off. It works like a charm and I didnt break anything!!! Theyre not making any new balancers for our early birds, so it was well worth the cost for a successful removal!!!
